Today, we turn the page, err table, on Chris and interview him! Tasked with this role is our guest co-host and a member of the podcast production team, Matt Haze.

Chris Reynolds is a 25-year veteran in the financial industry. He began his career as a financial Advisor before becoming a branch manager and, ultimately, co-founder and President of Investment Planning Counsel Inc. (“IPC”), which he currency sits as Executive Chair.
Over the years, Chris has found creative ways to lend his advice to thousands of Canadian investors. He has hosted several radio talk shows including the national “Investment Planning Show” which aired across Canada. He has contributed to two books on financial planning: “My Kids Are Gonna to be Rich” and “Wealth Creation – A Canadian Guide to Financial Independence”. He has been featured in The Globe and Mail, Advisors Edge, Investment Executive and many other industry publications. A well-known financial speaker, Chris has spoken at numerous national conferences.

I've been in business for more than 30 years. Every once in a while, I’ll meet someone who is hugely successful, yet very unhappy. It always puzzled me. There are so many people that have climbed the top of the success ladder, yet feel like they’re just on a treadmill. They're just so focused on business wins that they’ve found themselves so disconnected from their life outside of the office. They might not even know why they're even doing the business they're in anymore. Before they know it, burnout kicks in.
I know I’ve had moments in my life where I’ve been through that.
I wanted to dig into the curse of the high achiever and learn how to remind ourselves of why we do what we do. Hopefully once you work through this yourself, this can be something you can even teach your clients when it comes to their investments and their lives.

Dan Mason is an international career and life happiness coach, television personality, keynote speaker, and host of Apple’s #1 debut podcast, Life Amplified. He teaches unfulfilled high achievers how to trade the corporate grind for a life with more happiness, meaning, wealth, and fun. Through his coaching and television appearances, he’s taught over 20 million people globally how to thrive in their purpose.
Dan took his own journey and turned it into skills that he uses to help his clients. He spent 20 years as a media executive and on-air talent, overseeing very successful radio brands and major markets across the United States. He had a pretty sweet life, hosting album release parties with names like Taylor Swift and Maroon 5. It all looked great online! He invested so much energy into cultivating that image of success. Eventually, the wins were less fulfilling and, like many high achievers, he just tried to push through and achieve something bigger. At age 38, he was on blood pressure medication at 38 and battling shingles.
He took a deep assessment of his life and realized success and happiness are not mutually exclusive, and that put him on a huge personal growth path to figure out who he was, not just what he did for a living.
He shares his knowledge and experience with us in this episode.

Dr. Daniel Crosby is helping people see advisors as the decisional guides and life coaches that they truly are. He’s unique in the business and I thought a chat with him on the podcast would give you some amazing insight into the science of behavioral finance.
Dr. Daniel Crosby is a psychologist and behavioral finance expert who helps organizations understand the intersection of mind and markets. Dr. Crosby's first book, Personal Benchmark: Integrating Behavioral Finance and Investment Management, was a New York Times bestseller. His second book, The Laws of Wealth, was named the best investment book of 2017 by the Axiom Business Book Awards and has been translated into 12 languages. His latest work, The Behavioral Investor, was Axiom's best investment book of 2019 and is a comprehensive look at the neurology, physiology and psychology of sound financial decision-making.
You can thank his dad for him being here today! Three years into his doctoral program in therapy, Dr. Crobsy was burnt out. He loved studying psychology and human behavior, but he didn’t want to do it in a medical or a clinical context. His father, who is a financial advisor, said to him “Well, Daniel, there's a ton of psychology in the work that I do.” That simple prompt led to a series of events and self-study that landed him where he is today! He found that there was all this great research being done in the ivory tower, but it wasn't always trickling down to advisors like his dad in a very practical way. He’s made it his mission to serve advisors like his dad.

They say that the fundamental foundation of any good relationship is communication. One of the cornerstones of every successful advisor that I've ever met has been around the art of communication. They learn how to keep their clients informed, understand what their clients want to hear and make the effort to continuously develop that relationship.
Joining me to talk about all things communication is Kevin Mulhern, the CEO and Co-Founder of Advisor Stream, a platform used by most of the top advisors not only in Canada but in the US and UK. Kevin built Advisor Stream to help advisors and financial firms to leverage digital communications to connect with their current and potential clients.
